Since its launch in the fall of 2011 the Central European University's Institute for Advanced Study (CEU IAS) has been offering senior and junior fellowships to outstanding scholars from around the world to allow them to pursue their research for up to 9 months in Budapest. In the Institute’s friendly and intellectually stimulating environment fellows work on their own projects and share their findings with peers through weekly seminars and other community programs. Fellows have access to all CEU facilities, including seminar and conference space, computer services, and library resources. They also benefit from the CEU’s vibrant international character, its strong ties within Hungary and the region as well as its location in culturally rich Budapest.
CEU IAS fellows reside at the Wallenberg Guesthouse in the Buda Hills. With 26 fully equipped apartments ranging in size from 45 to 90 square meters, it provides fellows with superb live-work space. It also accommodates other guests based on availability.
